Frequently Asked Questions
How do I use this PNG to PDF converter?
Just three steps:
- Click the drop zone above or drag your PNG files onto it
- Wait a few seconds for conversion
- Click "Save" to download each PDF
Need a different image format? Try our AVIF to PNG or TIFF to PNG converters for lossless image output. Need to straighten or turn a scan first? Use Image Rotate.
Can I combine multiple PNG images into one PDF?
Yes — check "Merge all PNG files into one PDF" below the drop zone before selecting files. Each PNG becomes a page in a single multi-page PDF, with each page matching its source image's dimensions. All processing happens locally in your browser.
In what order are the PNGs merged into the PDF?
Pages appear in the same order as the files in the list above — the order you added them. To change the order, click Clear all and add the files again in the order you want them.
What page size does the PDF use?
The PDF page is sized to your image's own pixel dimensions — a 3000×2000 PNG becomes a 3000×2000 page, so nothing is stretched and there is no A4 or Letter preset. Portrait or landscape is detected automatically. For very large images (over 4000px on any side), the image is scaled down proportionally to stay within a standard document size, keeping the aspect ratio. To print on A4 or Letter paper, choose fit to page in your print dialog.
Can I print the PDF?
Yes. Every page is sized to the source image's pixel dimensions and the image is stored at full resolution, so nothing is stretched and printing gives you the sharpest result your image allows. The PDF has no fixed paper size — if you want it to fill A4 or Letter paper, pick fit to page (or "scale to fit") in your print dialog rather than "actual size".
Does PNG transparency get preserved in the PDF?
No — PDF pages have no concept of transparency, so transparent areas are rendered against a solid white background. The image itself is embedded losslessly; only the alpha channel is flattened onto that white background. If you need transparent output, use PNG as your final format.
Will the PDF contain the actual image?
Yes! The image is fully embedded inside the PDF — no external links, no dependencies. You can view, print, or share the PDF on any device and the image will display natively.
What is PNG format?
PNG (Portable Network Graphics) is a lossless raster image format with full alpha-channel transparency support. It's the standard format for screenshots, logos, icons, and any graphics with sharp edges. Converting PNG to PDF wraps the image in a portable document for sharing, printing, or submission to portals that require PDF.
How many PNG files can I convert at once?
Up to 50 PNG files in one batch. The other limit is memory rather than file count: very large images need more free memory, so high-resolution files (roughly 12–100 megapixels depending on your device) are refused up front instead of crashing the tab. By default each PNG becomes its own PDF; check "Merge all PNG files into one PDF" to combine them into a single multi-page PDF.
Do I need to sign up or create an account?
No. There is no sign-up, no email, and no watermark — open the page and drop your PNG files. Nothing is uploaded to a server, so there is no account to attach the files to in the first place.
Will converting PNG to PDF reduce image quality?
No. Your PNG's pixels are embedded in the PDF without lossy re-compression — the image is not re-encoded as JPEG, so there are no compression artifacts. Each page uses your image's native pixel dimensions (images over 4000px on a side are scaled down proportionally to stay within standard document size).
Does it work on Mac, Windows, iPhone, or Android?
Yes. Everything runs in your browser, so any modern browser works — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge, on desktop or mobile. There is no app to install and no software to download; the conversion happens on your device.
What's the file size limit?
Up to 500 MB per file. The limit you're more likely to hit is resolution — this device accepts roughly 12–100 megapixels per image depending on its available memory, because a file anywhere near 500 MB would be far beyond that.
Is this converter really private?
Yes! All conversion happens locally in your browser using your device's native PNG decoder and jsPDF. Your files are never uploaded to any server — which also means there is no server-side copy to expire later. The only copy that has ever existed is the one on your device.
