Why convert TIFF to PDF?
Email and portals accept it. Submission systems, mail clients, and government portals accept PDF attachments far more readily than TIFF — and merging several scans into one PDF keeps the whole set under a single attachment limit.
Archive and share it. A PDF carries every page in one file with the images embedded inside — one download for the whole document set, viewable on any device without TIFF-capable software.
Share it, don't surrender it. Recipients can view and print a PDF, but casual edits to your scan aren't one click away the way they are with a bare image file.
Combining several scans first? Check "Merge all TIFF files into one PDF" below the drop zone — the merged document is built locally in your browser, with no upload step in between.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I use this TIFF to PDF converter?
Just three steps:
- Click the drop zone above or drag your TIFF files onto it
- Wait a few seconds for conversion
- Click "Save" to download each PDF
Each TIFF becomes its own PDF document — and a multi-frame TIFF (a scan saved as multi-page TIFF) becomes a multi-page PDF, one page per frame. TIF and TIFF are the same format: files with either extension work identically. Need an image format instead? Try our TIFF to JPG or TIFF to PNG converters.
Can I combine multiple TIFF files into one PDF?
Yes — check "Merge all TIFF files into one PDF" below the drop zone before selecting files. Every frame of every TIFF becomes a page in a single multi-page PDF — a single-frame file contributes one page, a 5-frame scan contributes five — with each page matching its source image's dimensions. All processing happens locally in your browser.
Can you merge TIF files?
Yes — TIF and TIFF are the same format, and this tool merges both into one PDF. Check "Merge all TIFF files into one PDF", drop your files, and the merged PDF is built locally in your browser: nothing is uploaded, so the pages of your combined document never touch a server.
How do I merge and convert TIFF images to PDF?
Three steps: check "Merge all TIFF files into one PDF" below the drop zone, add your TIFF files in the page order you want, then click Save on the merged result. Every frame becomes a page in a single multi-page PDF, combined locally in your browser.
What page size does the PDF use?
The PDF page matches your image dimensions exactly. Portrait or landscape orientation is detected automatically. For very large images (over 4000px on any side), the image is scaled down proportionally to fit within a standard document size while maintaining quality.
Will the PDF contain the actual image?
Yes! The image is fully embedded inside the PDF — no external links, no dependencies. You can view, print, or share the PDF on any device and the image will display natively. Perfect for submitting documents to portals, printing scanned images, or archiving photos.
Does this support multi-page TIFF files?
Yes — every frame of a multi-frame TIFF becomes its own PDF page, in frame order, both in single-file mode and in merge mode. No desktop splitting needed. Files with more than 50 frames use the first 50 — a browser memory limit we state up front rather than silently dropping frames.
Does this support BigTIFF?
No — only baseline TIFF (the common format). BigTIFF, used for files larger than 4 GB, is rejected with a clear error. Convert BigTIFF to baseline TIFF with ImageMagick or libvips first.
Does this support 16-bit or palette TIFF?
No — only 8-bit baseline TIFF (RGB or RGBA) is supported. 16-bit per channel, palette-indexed, CMYK, and LZW-compressed variants may fail to decode. Convert these to standard 8-bit baseline TIFF with ImageMagick or libvips before uploading.
What is TIFF format?
TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) is a bitmap format favored for archival, scanning, and professional print. It supports lossless compression, multi-page documents, CMYK color, and 16-bit per channel depth — but most web browsers cannot open TIFF files. PDF is a universally compatible alternative for sharing and printing.
How many TIFF files can I convert at once?
You can batch-convert multiple files at once — the exact limit adapts to your device’s memory. By default each TIFF becomes its own PDF; check "Merge all TIFF files into one PDF" to combine them into a single multi-page PDF. All processing happens in your browser with no uploads.
What's the file size limit?
Up to 500 MB per TIFF and 50 files per batch — the caps are shown in the drop zone. There is no separate upload-step quota, because there is no upload: the files are processed in your browser, and the conversion handles multi-hundred-megabyte scans as long as your device has the memory.
Does this work on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, or iOS?
Yes — everything runs in the browser, so any modern browser on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, or iOS works. There is nothing to install and no account to create; open the page and drop your files.
Is this converter really private?
Yes! All conversion happens locally in your browser. The TIFF is decoded client-side via UTIF, and the PDF is generated entirely in your browser using jsPDF. Your files are never uploaded to any server.
