Frequently Asked Questions
How do I convert WebP to JPG?
Three steps:
- Drop your WebP files onto the area above, or click to select
- Each file is decoded in your browser and re-encoded as a 92% quality JPG
- Click Save next to each result — or Save ZIP to download the whole batch as one file
Why convert WebP to JPG?
WebP is widely supported in modern browsers (96%+ coverage), but many apps, image viewers, and email clients still don't accept WebP. JPG is universally supported:
- PDF editors and Office apps
- Email signatures and attachments across all clients
- Social media uploads (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn)
- Document scanners, printers, and older mobile apps
If a destination won't take WebP, JPG is the safe fallback.
What happens to transparency?
JPG cannot store transparency. If the source WebP has a transparent background, those pixels become white (or black, depending on the browser's encoder). If you need to keep alpha, stay in PNG or WebP.
Will the JPG be larger than the WebP?
Usually yes — WebP is generally 25–35% smaller than JPG at the same quality. Converting to JPG trades file size for compatibility. If both formats work for your destination, prefer WebP.

Can I convert animated WebP to JPG?
JPG doesn't support animation — only the first frame of an animated WebP would be converted. For animation, use our WebP to GIF converter instead.
How many files can I convert at once?
Up to 50 WebP files per batch. Files are processed one by one inside your browser — no upload, so your connection speed doesn't matter — and Save ZIP downloads the whole batch as one file.
Is this converter private?
Yes. All conversion runs locally via the Canvas API. Your WebP files are never uploaded or sent to a server, and there's no analytics on file contents. No sign-up, no email, no account — and you can prove the local part to yourself: disconnect from the internet and the converter keeps working.
